The International Country Music Association is an organization that
promotes songwriters and country and bluegrass singers around the world. We are
located at Nashville, Tennessee, the capitol of country music. We have
members in every branch of the music business and are an organization
of independent country music artists, songwriters, producers, promoters,
record studios, disk jockys (DJs), and country music professionals of every
kind. We publish a monthly newsletter on music issues effecting the Country
scene. We have radio DJs reporting their playlists to us. We have
songwriter homepages with sample songs in RealAudio and MP3 format. We have
links to RealAudio radio shows and useful contacts in the Country music business. The organization began as a collaboration between overseas D.J.s and american music promoters. Americana, country and bluegrass, and traditional music forms were most commonly featured and new bands and singers were showcased. In this way, new acts could build a fan base in another country and then use that to demonstrate their attractiveness for a record contract with a major label. The organization grew as Country music and Bluegrass grew in popularity in English speaking countries around the world.
